This is a review of another sample I got with one of my many purchases: The Skinfood Platinum Grape Cell Eye Cream.
The Grape Cell Eye Cream is an anti-aging eye cream containing grape cells and platinum particles that are supposed to brighten and firm aging skin around the eyes.
So, now I have heard that it is recommended to start using anti-aging products around 25, because ‘prevention is better than cure’, though I have never really put much thoughts into it, nor have I, expect for one BB Cream, ever bought any anti-aging products.
I also don't really know how to rate a sample product that won't show any effect after just using it once, so I will just go with describing smell and texture of this.
The original product comes in 30g and in 50g, the sample doesn't say how much it contains, probably something around 2-3g.
The cream is almost fragrance-free and the texture is very rich, greasy and fatty.
The application is described as following:
After emulsion application, dispense an ample amount into the palm and apply onto the face in gentle upward and outward motions. Using both palms, pat and press gently onto the face for faster absorption.
Because of the texture I can't really imagine this to be a before-makeup product. The cream is way too fatty to absorb into the skin properly.

Of course I didn't expect to see any instant effect to the fine lines under my eyes, but I think you can see pretty well how fatty the texture of this cream is. Even a long time after applying, my skin still feels greasy and sticky.
I don't really have much faith in eye creams as I have been using various eye-creams against dark circles for years with zero result. I am not bothered by the lines under my eyes as much as by my dark circles, and I hate extremely fatty creams of any kind, not only because of the feeling, but also because it makes it impossible to apply makeup on it. I don't see me buying this product.

Thanks for the great review and I love your blog design, its so cute!
ReplyDeleteIs this better than the Salmon brightening cream from skinfood?
ReplyDeleteI have been using Lush Enchanted Eye Cream which was really moisturizing and helped with puffyness and make up applies over it really well. I've been curious to try other things, but maybe I should just stick to what works for me. >_<

What you published made a lot of sense. However, think on this,
ReplyDeletesuppose you were to create a killer post title? I ain't saying your content is not solid., however suppose you added something that grabbed people's attention?
I mean "Review: Skinfood Platinum Grape Cell Eye Cream" is a little boring.
You might glance at Yahoo's home page and watch how they write post titles to grab people interested. You might try adding a video or a picture or two to grab people excited about what you've got to say.
Just my opinion, it would bring your posts a little bit more interesting.
